Sorry, but Windows 10 is No Longer Free

If you passed on the free update for Windows 10, you might have missed your moment. The reason is it now costs $119 for Home and $199 for Pro. While there is still a chance that Microsoft may provide the upgrade for free in the future–right now, you will have to cough up a few bills. There has been some controversy surrounding the previously free upgrade with many Windows 8 users complaining about not having the ability to have separate icons on each desktop or different wallpapers.

On the other hand, Windows 10 brings back the ‘Start’ menu and seems to work well for gamers. Also, it has been heralded for its reliability in comparison to Windows 8 or Windows 7. If you don’t like the features, you still have a month to decide whether or not you want to roll it back. Currently, Windows 10 is installed on 350 million devices throughout the world. Although, Microsoft has recently stated they do not expect to reach 1 billion users by 2018.
