3 Benefits of Switching to Coffee Substitutes

If you’re looking for reasons to switch to a coffee substitute, there are several. From preserving your health to saving money, there are plenty of ways you could benefit from leaving coffee behind for coffee substitutes.

Dental Hygiene

If you’ve been a coffee drinker for a while, you’ve probably noticed that your teeth are heavily stained. You may have even noticed that your teeth aren’t as smooth or maybe more sensitive than they used to be.

This is because coffee is terrible for our teeth! Coffee stains are as nasty as nicotine stains when it comes to our teeth. It can be a lengthy and frustrating process trying to get our teeth back to normal after the damage they’ve gone through. Whether it’s just discoloration you are experiencing or maybe actual pain or discomfort, dental problems can be some of the hardest to deal with, and coffee doesn’t promote a clean, healthy mouth.

Most coffee alternatives are very light in color so that they won’t leave a dark stain on our teeth, and they contain much less acid than coffee, which is better for our gums and enamel. After about a week of using coffee substitutes, you will more than likely notice a difference in the way your teeth look and feel.

Feelin’ Good

Coffee can be damaging to your overall health. Whether it’s dental, physical, or mental, coffee can cause quite a commotion in your life if you let it.

You know the awful, painful feeling you get in your stomach after you’ve had coffee, and all of a sudden, you’re running to the restroom as fast as you can? That’s because the acid and caffeine in coffee are irritating your stomach. It is not only that feeling unpleasant and sometimes painful, but it can also lead to having ulcers in your stomach. When ulcers bleed, it can make you nauseous, and you may even vomit blood or find blood in your stool. This can cause severe problems if it’s not taken care of or made worse.

Luckily, there are plenty of coffee alternatives that will give you the energy you need while promoting good gut health at the same time. This can regulate your bowel movements in a way that is safe and healthy.

If you’ve ever experienced the after-coffee-jitters that lead to full-blown anxiety, then you know how awful that feeling is and that you don’t want to feel it ever again. With coffee substitutes, you’re getting a different kind of energy. Not the type that can be so intense it’s crippling. The type of boost you can get from coffee alternatives is energy with focus. This means your mind won’t be racing the way it used to when you drank coffee. You’ll also feel equally as energized physically as you do mentally. This creates a sense of balance, which feels a lot more calm and natural to us than the feeling of being drained and stimulated simultaneously, the way we often do with coffee.

Saving Money

While coffee alternatives usually cost about the same as coffee, there are still a few ways you’ll save money by switching to a substitute.

When you use a coffee substitute, you’ll more than likely have to make it at home. If you make your morning drink at home and take it on the go with your thermal cup, you save money on the drive-thru drink. When we can get coffee almost anywhere, the convenience makes it too easy to tell ourselves that we’ll “just stop and get coffee on the way.” When we do this, we can spend almost 9 dollars per drink. For most, that’s just not feasible.

So, if you want to spare your body, your mind, and your wallet, coffee alternatives are definitely with a try. You won’t regret it.
