Atlas Jenkins Discusses the Change in the Music Industry During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic has impacted everyone and this includes the music industry. This is a major public health crisis that has led to millions of infections all over the world and hundreds of thousands of deaths in the United States alone. In addition to this, the pandemic has had an adverse effect on small businesses both in local communities and around the world. As a result, an economic crisis has been created on top of a public health emergency. In this manner, the music industry is not alone and its adjustments. Atlas Jenkins is one of the top young music artists in the world and he has experienced the pandemic and its impact on music firsthand.

Jenkins Discusses How Music Has Changed his Life

Jenkins always knew that he wanted to be a creative professional. At the same time, even he could not have predicted the massive impact that music would have on his life. As he has progressed into adulthood, he has realized that his priorities have started to shift. In the past, music would be his only focus. Even though it is still one of the cornerstones of his life, he has also had children since he became a father in addition to taking a job as an ICU nurse. Therefore, he has experienced the coronavirus pandemic from multiple aspects. Even though he continues to focus on his music and building his career, his growth as an adult has also had a major impact on his life.

Jenkins Focuses on the Coronavirus Pandemic

Without a doubt, music continues to be a performance-based industry. Even though technology has completely changed how music is produced, there is nothing that is ever going to be able to replace live concerts. Therefore, this is a massive revenue stream in the world of music that currently does not exist. With the scope of the pandemic continuing to expand, people continue to be physically isolated. Therefore, there is still a massive search for information, art, and stories that are able to feed into the human spirit and ignite the imagination. Therefore, high-quality content is more important than ever. The coronavirus pandemic has forced the music industry to shift the manner in which it delivers this content to its listeners.

The Future of the Music Industry Amidst the Pandemic

Even though there are many businesses that are starting to reopen, the reality is that the coronavirus pandemic is going to be with us until we are able to have a vaccine. Even though there are some people who say we are going to a vaccine in a few months, it is still going to take a tremendous amount of time to get this vaccine out to everyone. Therefore, it is going to be a while before herd immunity is seen.

Similar to other industries, the music industry is going to have to adapt. There could be an increase in the number of virtual concerts, where people use video conferencing to attend live performances. There could also be situations that are currently seen in sports, where music performers put on live concerts to crowds that are socially distanced. One thing that is certain is that Jenkins is not going to give up on his dreams. He knows that he has a bright future in the music industry and is going to do everything he can to get his career back on track when the pandemic subsides.
