One of the most recognizable vehicles on the planet, there isn’t a person in the world serious about off-roading and vehicle based adventuring that hasn’t dreamed of a Defender living (at least part time) in their garage.
Unbelievably capable and perfectly engineered for it’s time, the original Defender run has enjoyed almost mythic status over the last 30 years – in part because they are so hard to find.
These vehicles were (understandably) used and abused and then put out to pasture, for the most part. Finding a Defender in even halfway decent shape has become almost impossible.

Every Custom Defender Starts with a Piece of Automotive History

These vehicles are rescued and salvaged from all over the world, usually in less than picture perfect shape, and are worked over from top to bottom to bring them back to better than brand new condition.

After rebuilding these custom Defenders to make sure they are solid, road sound, and safe, the fun begins.
Smart upgrades are made across the board.
All new suspension systems and wheels are added, helping these already off-road capable vehicles get to spots only mountain goats have visited before.
All new drivetrains and engines are added (with Corvette engines available as an option for even more power and speed), allowing these vehicles to push through any obstacle that would have slowed the classic run of Defenders – while enjoying better fuel efficiency and economy, too.
On top of that, all new luxury appointments fill the cabin and interior. Well upholstered seating, a beautifully redesigned dash that doesn’t loose the charm of the original, and a whole range of navigation, entertainment, and climate control improvements are made, too.
A True One of a Kind in a Mass Produced World
The end result of these ECD Auto Design Defender projects is a brand new vehicle with all of the Defender DNA, a modern marvel of engineering that honors the heritage and history of this icon.
As far from the more than two million production Defenders that rolled off of assembly lines through it’s history as it gets, each of these Defender projects are true one of a kind pieces.
