Building From Past Failures: The Story of Jackson Yew

It’s not uncommon to hear stories about people starting a business, seeing it go bankrupt, and then quitting altogether to settle for something less risky. Instead of analyzing what went wrong and what can be done to right the ship, they throw in the towel and tell themselves: maybe I’m just not made for this. Jackson Yew has experienced this himself. But today, he’s the co-founder of one of the fastest-rising digital marketing companies in the world. Keep reading to learn how it all started.

Jackson’s humble beginnings

Jackson grew up in an ordinary middle-class Chinese family. His parents made just enough money to provide for their basic needs. When he was young, Jackson never dreamed of becoming rich. All he wanted was to get a decent-paying job, start a family, and live a happy and modest life. Little did he know that he was destined for bigger things.

During his university years, Jackson found himself looking for ways to make some side income. This marked his first venture in the world of digital marketing. He created websites and flipped them for profit. Because of his relentless determination, Jackson started making $1,000 a month, which is a sizeable sum of money even by today’s standards. With money rolling in, Jackson felt on top of the world.

Rising from bankruptcy

After completing his Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Jackson worked as a sales engineer. Although it didn’t take long for him to quit, he learned a lot from this experience, especially in mastering the art of selling to people. Feeling more confident in his abilities and fueled by the desire to be his boss, Jackson decided to launch a ship salvaging company with a business partner.

Things took off pretty quickly for his company. But after a year, the differences between him and his business partner were getting more complicated. And just two years after starting the company, he had to shut it down, driving him to the brink of bankruptcy.

Jackson had to work his way back up entirely from scratch. He decided to get back to digital marketing, creating web pages and offering various web development solutions to Malaysians. At the same time, he built his clientele by approaching international clients from the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Co-founding Funnel Duo Media

As he grew his client base, Jackson found the confidence to launch a digital marketing agency with his brother, Reeve Yew. The two combined their SEO, web development, lead generation, and funnel building skills to provide clients with a comprehensive solution never seen before. At the young age of just three years old, Funnel Duo Media has already worked with Dan Lok, Mike Dillard, and Frank Kern.

Today, Jackson spends most of his time training students and aspiring entrepreneurs. He knows that thousands of people are experiencing what he went through just ten years ago. With his knowledge, skills, and experience, Jackson aims to motivate his students and inspire them to dream bigger and start taking action to live the life they’ve always wanted.
