In 2019, Business Blurb was birthed by college dropouts and New Jersey natives Brendan Cox and Devin Caherly. The rapidly growing media company quickly grew to become one of the fastest and most reputable names in business media alongside Forbes, Entrepreneur Media and Business Insider.
Although they carried a similar reputation, the companies had little in common. While Forbes, Entrepreneur Media and Business Insider introduce themselves as publications, Business Blurb brands itself as a social media centered company.
To break it down in simple terms, Business Blurb is delivering business related information, education and entertainment in a more modern way than your traditional journal. From a text line that sends trending business headlines straight to your phone, to social profiles by category, Business Blurb is creating entrepreneurial media for the young, aspiring businessperson for generations to come.
Business Blurb founder Brendan Cox emphasized their focus on video-content, “The future of social media is heavily leaning toward short form video content. Take a look at Tik Tok’s immense success over the past year.” Caherly also further explained their plans for Tik Tok, “This summer we launched our second Tik Tok content creator internship where we brought on a select group of creators. This program strives to teach and mentor college students on building virality on Tik Tok.”
Business Blurb’s new program helps expose young adults to the ins and outs of social media. Cox told us, “One of our first interns was Kyle Elliott, a driven high schooler who had reached out to us due to his interest in entrepreneurship.”
He continued “We brought Kyle on as an intern and he fell in love with creating content after he gained viral success on Business Blurb’s Tik Tok. He then decided he wanted to create content on his personal page and amassed a whopping half of a million followers in just a few months.”
We wanted to highlight some of Business Blurb’s recent creators who also demonstrated their passion for creating content over the past few months:
- Aasal Kundi is a junior at the University of Texas at Dallas who is currently studying marketing. Kundi is also pre-law and says she loves to read about what’s going on in the world to stay informed. She has implemented that knowledge in creating informative Tik Toks for Business Blurb. Her creativity and persistent pursuit of knowledge have been valuable to the fast growing social media giant.
- Angelica Cuddy is a senior at Rutgers University currently studying Journalism and Media. She has participated in many brand ambassadorship programs which has given her experience with digital marketing and brand promotion across different social media platforms. Her strong knowledge of social media brought immense value when it came to following trends and curating unique content for Business Blurb.
- Dean Taylor is a recent St John’s University graduate. He is pursuing his Masters degree in International Hospitality Management. Dean has a passion for marketing and his extensive knowledge of social media has been an extremely beneficial asset to Business Blurb’s content team. He has curated unique content surrounding trends in the business and entrepreneurship space.
