CEO Madison Gorn: There’s Plenty of Room for Every Dream in the Business World

Every once in a while, Madison Gorn, the 20-year-old marketing powerhouse and CEO of Maddie Girl Marketing, drives past her old high school just to connect with her roots and to see where her business dreams began. “It’s hard to believe that I was only fifteen and a sophomore when I started my first company, Maddie Girl Cosmetics,” she reflects, smiling as she looks back. “Since then, I’ve learned a lot about digital marketing and used the knowledge to help other entrepreneurs to reach their goals and to really take their companies to a higher level. The past few years have been a whirlwind, honestly, but I’ve loved every minute of it.”

As a young business leader, Madison is carving out her space in the marketing industry and earning the respect of her clients, who include brands seen in Target, Walmart, Ulta, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Sephora. Madison admits, though, that she has faced a few doubters. “We all know how hard it is to start a new company, let alone one that is successful,” she says. “Something like 45% of new businesses fail within the first five years, so I have faced the same odds as other entrepreneurs. Then, when you throw in my age, you can understand why I have had a few people tell me that I was crazy to open Maddie Girl Marketing. They believed I would be safer if I first worked for an established firm. I’ll admit that I’ve never been someone interested in playing it safe. I’m not reckless – just interested in pushing limits and seeing what’s beyond them.”

By stepping outside of the box, Madison is finding a business world that is full of possibilities. “It’s been incredibly exciting,” she shares. “Each day, I use what I know about marketing to help companies to grow their online presence, which can drive their sales to a whole new level. What makes it even more interesting for me is that no two companies are the same. Each one has a different history and set of goals, and I love to strategize with them about where they want to go and how I can help them to get there.”

At her disposal is a full menu of services from which she creates customized digital marketing campaigns. “One company might want to utilize the power of NFT technology to expand their online presence,” says Madison. “Another might benefit more from using podcasts and email marketing. By listening to the client’s goals and background, I can determine what will work best for them and why and design a campaign that will result in the success they’re seeking.”

While she admits she loves the technology she has at her fingertips, Madison says that what she really loves is working with people. “I’ve gotten to know many of my clients pretty well, as we’ve been working together since I opened Maddie Girl Marketing,” she states. “I’ve had the privilege of seeing how our digital marketing campaigns have resulted in higher profits for them as well as given them the confidence that, yes, they can do this – they can be successful business leaders! I love to see the lightbulb turn on inside of them when they realize that the business world has more than enough space for them.”

Madison has come far from her early days of entrepreneurship, when she used to create her own cosmetics by crushing her mother’s eyeshadow and mixing it with Vaseline to make it shimmer. “I have evolved from those days, definitely!” she laughs. “Sometimes, though, I wish I could go back and tell my younger self to keep going. I would want to tell her that the business world was going to be open for her just like it is for anyone else. I really do believe that if you have an idea for a company, you should go for it. It doesn’t matter how many other businesses are out there – you’ve got every right to start your own and seek your own success.”

Perhaps that is what Madison finds most gratifying about her work as the CEO of Maddie Girl Marketing: she can use her marketing skills to make the business dreams of other entrepreneurs come true. “I think that’s true,” Madison says thoughtfully. “What could be more fun or satisfying than helping other people to find the success they have always dreamed of? I am glad that I’ve got the ability to help businesses get off the ground and reach their full potential.”
