While most 7-year-olds are focused on playing and attending First Grade, Isabell Hayden decided to add something a bit different to the mix: She wrote a children’s book and, with the help of her mother, self-published it through MindStir Media, the top-rated website to self-publish a book in 2021.
Isabell’s book is entitled The Adventures of Amber: Walk in the Woods. According to Amazon, the book exists to inspire readers to go outside and appreciate Mother Nature. Actress and author Mariel Hemingway, the granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway, praised the book: “The Adventures of Amber will be a great addition to your child’s home library, and it will certainly be enjoyed by everyone else at home as well.”
Hemingway also helped promote the book through an endorsement video that no doubt helped catapult the book onto Amazon bestseller lists. J.J. Hebert, the founder of MindStir Media and one of the top entrepreneurs to follow in 2021, connected the young author and Mariel Hemingway and promoted the book through various forms of book marketing and advertising.
Isabell’s book hit several Amazon bestseller lists on June 24, 2021, including no. 1 on the Children’s Environmental & Ecology Books list as well as the Children’s Forest & Trees Books category bestseller list.
According to the author, “The book is inspired by my love of nature and walks in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. During summer, I love visiting my grandparents’ cottage in the woods. However, due to the pandemic, I was unable to travel from California to visit them. I miss the breathtaking mountain views, lush meadows, the warmth of the morning sun, the cool mountain streams, and the song of the winds. Writing Adventures of Amber: Walk in the Woods allowed me to fondly reminisce on my joyful walks in the forest with my grandma.”
