DJ Duo Behind Plant Based Amor Advocates for Veganism as a Couple

Not everyone uses their platform to amplify a cause that they’re passionate about. But that’s exactly what DJ duo and vegan couple Mike Sincere and Jezzy do with their collaborative platform called Plantbased Amor.

Mike started spinning at the age of 16 and attended the Scratch DJ Academy in Los Angeles. He first got major attention when spinning a commercial for Adidas when he was only 18.

The commercial, which included celebrities Missy Elliot, Katy Perry, and David Beckham, became his stepping stone. Both the commercial filming staff and the stars noticed Mike’s skills and started booking him for more gigs.

His experience has only grown from there, including taking him on trips and performing on the seas during the last several years. Yep, that means Mike has performed on cruises. And they’re not just any cruise lines, but some of the best: Disney Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean among others.

Mike, who is the current Brand Ambassador for Blendtec and SFH, has spun for Gasolina Party, which is the largest Reggaeton party in the country. In August of 2020, both Jezzy and Mike outdid themselves, and spun a 24-hour DJ set together live on Twitch, lasting for 24 straight hours, to honor Kobe and his legacy.

He’s also gone on to DJ for sports, including DJing for LMU Men’s Basketball. Over the last two years, Mike has became the official Game DJ for the Lakers NBA G League Team, the South Bay Lakers, and is the first official DJ for the organization.

Both Mike and Jezzy, while each having their own social media platforms, saw an opportunity to use their presence and following to advocate for something that they are both passionate about: veganism.

While it may seem like DJing and veganism don’t share any connection, Mike and Jezzy have made a connection between the two, often DJing at vegan events and festivals. They firmly believe that veganism is now, the future, and forever – that it isn’t just a trend, but is how the future will be eating.

Plant Based Amor promotes a cruelty-free lifestyle, both on Instagram and on their YouTube channel. Jezzy and Mike have fashioned their Plant Based Amor brand into how a healthy couple can live and love a healthy plant-based diet.

The Instagram account focuses on some of the best vegan restaurants and vegan finds around Los Angeles. But it isn’t just where to eat plant-based burgers or subs or smoothies; it’s recipes, too. Jezzy, the vegan chef by day and DJ by night, creates and shares simple vegan recipes for meals that aren’t just salad-based such as chickpea curry bowls and falafels. The pair continue to curate content to advocate for a lifestyle that they see as fresh and healthy, and, at the same time, isn’t boring or plain.

Their activism and advocacy isn’t limited to veganism, too. The pair just spun at a community event in Los Angeles to feed those in need, and had special hosts including Jhene Aiko, Roddy Ricch, DJ Mustard, and Trey Songz. They’ve also hosted a charity event on skid row with Sommer Bell of Chase Your Throne and former Lakers player Scott Machado to give food, clothes, and other necessities to the homeless in Los Angeles.

The vegan duo doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon, and you can catch them spinning multiple times a week on their Twitch channel @djmikesincere. They are bringing the good vibes and music right to your screens digitally, so you can party wherever you are in the world.
