Dj Rishi is Gaining Global Recognition for her Work

Many people consider music to be a divine language of expression. For most people, it is an escape and for others, it’s a way of life. There are often people who aren’t just satisfied by listening to music but want to create their own, one such example is Rishi, a DJ from South Africa who specializes in deep house music.

Born and brought up in South Africa, Rishi was influenced by the ever-evolving world of music around her from an early age. She holds a degree in business law but she realized that music was her true calling in life and it began when she found herself dancing and being entranced by a series of music genres.

What struck a chord with her taste in music was the modern genre of deep house. After scouring the internet for underground artists and music in various genres, she had the first taste of being behind the turntable.

She eventually bought her own DJ set up and the rest is history, she quickly honed her skills as a producer and has a deep love for underground music. She not only produces her own music but is an active blogger in the world of music, she curates playlists as well.

If all of this wasn’t enough, Rishi is also a producer, DJ, and designer. Talking about the same, she shares, “I founded and co-own a streetwear brand called RAION. I’m the first South African Female producer to be Remixed by JT Donaldson.”

Talking about her future plans, Rishi adds, “My dream is to have a track of mine released through Defected records & classic music company.”

She makes her music from the scratch and loves making modern sounds with vintage synths and instruments.

Dj Rishi recently released a track called Runaway which was remixed by JT Donaldson. Her next release is a track called ‘Out of control’ which will be released by Turnleft Recordings in October.

Apart from this, Rishi is looking forward to many more projects and collaborations with the world’s top DJs.
