In the words of the great Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. In a developing country like India where education remains a distant dream for quite a few children is the grim reality. So what can one do to change it and who takes the charge one may ask? We recently came across someone who has decided to take charge and work towards the improvement in the educational field by doing his bit.
“One has to do their bit. You must not get overwhelmed by the magnitude of the problem but know that every small step taken in the right direction is helpful and causes a change in the longer run. At least that’s what I have learned in my almost two-decade-long career where being an educationist has been the highlight of my professional journey’, says Manish. Like most of the undergraduate students who wish to support themselves during college days, Manish started working at the age of 18 years. He adds, ‘I was fortunate that my first brush with professional experience was with an educational institute where is started with representing them in various states and worked as a counsellor in early days by guiding students to take up courses best suited to their interest.
This job gave me the much-needed insight into the education sector and I soon took the control of administrative duties for the entire institute.’ This indeed was an achievement on Mr Madhavan’s part as he was a very young candidate who was not only bagged the prestigious yet challenging position but also was successful in the execution of his duties. This administrative experience helped in greatly as he then joined Automobile Society India where he got promoted till Joint Secretary and also helped the organization to establish the first private technical university in Arunachal Pradesh.
This was his foray further into the more complex role of a liaison. This exposed Manish to the challenging world of obtaining necessary government approvals along with administrative duties, which is successfully executed. Armed with over 10 years of experience in career counselling, administration and liaising Manish then went ahead to establish his own distant education firm Lernovate Education in 2020. “It’s a new world and thus the form of imparting education has also undergone tremendous changes. The pandemic has further completely altered the learning system which we have known for years.
The traditional methods are being reevaluated and distance learning has opened up access to various streams of education to those who wish to learn. This was the thought behind Lernovate Education which boasts of the tie-ups and affiliations with various government recognized universities. In a short span, Lernovate has also been able to expand its base with offices in various cities like Pune, Kerala and Bangalore. “This journey of establishing our distance learning institute has been most challenging yet fulfilling,’ quips Manish. He further adds that this is just his first step towards his goal of establishing educational institutes in the remotest parts of the country where everyone has easy access to quality education as their basic right. It’s also a part of the mission to concentrate in the field of girl education which is the most powerful tool in empowering them for the future.”
Being an innate multitasker, Manish has now decided to put both his strong administrative acumen and his impeccable network with government officials acquired during his liaisoning stint to use for his foray into a new domain where he is part of establishing a manufacturing unit in the field of forging in his home state Chhattisgarh with Balan Ispat & Forging Pvt. Ltd. This heat treatment plant is going to be the first commercial heat treatment plant for the central region which will eliminate the challenge for small and medium business of the cost incurred while getting access to a nearest heat treatment plant which is in Hyderabad.
“We are aiming at providing the business of central region with world class heat treatment facilities in the proximity, thus also making it cost effective, explained Manish. With a healthy balance of noble goals of an educationist and an entrepreneur on the rise, we wish Mr Manish Madhavan very good luck in future.
