From High-Tech to Old West

Joseph Levy, the up-and-coming entrepreneur behind GTL Marketing, has set his sights on something decidedly low tech but in line with his large ambitions.

An Old West town.

Levy recently entered negotiations to purchase an entire Old West town at the northern gateway to the San Luis Valley in Colorado. The 320-acre property in Saguache previously operated as the Old Cow Town resort.

“It all started as just a joke among friends,” Levy said. “Now it appears soon I may own my very own small city.”

The property is listed for sale for $4.7 million and features a saloon and restaurant, general store, hotel and dance hall and a chapel.

The town also has three operational wells and two creeks.

Along with the modern reproductions, three cabins on the property date back to the 1880s when the Hoagland Stage Coach line owned the site.

The main home on the property is the 3-bedroom Ponderosa Lodge, styled to fit in among the Old West properties while boasting modern amenities.

The property was developed in 2007 and operated as an event venue where guests from the region could bask in the natural beauty surrounding the property, utilize the property’s outdoor concert venue, and enjoy modern attractions like miniature golf, a shooting range and RV hookups.

“Owning this one-of-a-kind property would be a dream cometrue,” Levy said. “It’s more than just buying a home. It’s a lifestyle. And one that can’t be duplicated anywhere else.”
