Here’s how I Gained 100,000 Followers on TikTok in a Week

It’s no longer news that influencers and small businesses are growing faster than ever on the popular video sharing app, Tik Tok. After scrolling amongst the “For You Page” for so many hours a day, I decided to see how fast I could grow an account of my own.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when attempting to become “Tik Tok Famous”:

Choosing a niche

Choosing your niche is the first step you need to take in going viral on Tik Tok. If you aren’t choosing a specific niche, Tik Tok will struggle to know who to show your videos too. I always recommend building a page around something you are passionate about. For instance, if you are a coffee lover, create a Tik Tok page of you reviewing different coffee drinks.

Use trending sounds

Using trending sounds is a great way to increase your chance of going viral. Tik Tok’s algorithm often pushes out videos that use sounds and songs that are gaining traction. I highly recommend using Tok Board: a website that shows you Tik Tok’s top songs of the day.

Relevant hashtags

Although they are not required, hashtags are an important part of Tik Tok. Like trending sounds, trending hashtags are displayed on the “For You” page for viewers to browse through. To have a better chance of going viral, ensure you are using relevant hashtags so Tik Tok sends your videos out to people who are more likely to be interested in your content.

Posting 3-5 times per day

Consistency is key. Make sure you are posting at least three to five times daily. Chances are that the more consistent you are, the better shot you have at going viral.

Watch time

Tik Tok’s algorithm has a lot to do with how long a user watches your video. It’s important to keep your audience hooked for the entire length of the clip and even have them rewatch a video twice to catch something they may have missed. Make sure to keep this in mind when creating your content!
