Internxt is Creating the Next-Generation of Internet Services on the Blockchain

cloud-computing

Just like any type of technology, there needs to be advancement and upgrading happening on basically an on-going basis. Consumer demands change, types of technology can become obsolete, therefore you always need to be ready for what’s coming next.

That’s why I wanted to tell you about a company that is changing internet services that we know today. You’re probably thinking how can that be? Well, let me explain a bit more and provide some background on what Internxt is doing to revolutionize the internet.

After successfully closing a fundraising round through a regulated Initial Coin Offering, Internxt is starting to work on helping shape a new internet with the creation of distributed internet services that are attractive to the mass-market. Just like Apple did 30 years ago with the personal computer and later with the smartphone, Internxt (unlike similar decentralized internet solutions) is crafting mass-market attractive internet services.

Internxt is starting with decentralized cloud file storage as their first distributed internet solution called, “X Files”. It will allow anyone (both individuals and businesses) to host files in a significantly more secure, private, reliable and independent cloud. A cloud that brings together the highest levels of security with all the benefits of the cloud.

“We believe people have the right to higher levels of privacy and security in the cloud that finally makes sense” – adds Fran Villalba Segarra, Internxt’s Founder, CEO.

Segarra, a young entrepreneur also had this to say,

“We’re creating a cloud solution that’s simply better than what people are currently using. We’ll make sure it’s as simple and as easy-to-use, as traditional cloud services are so that people can make an organic transition to our platform”.

To be completely honest, it was refreshing to hear this from Segarra because one thing that is hard to make people do is; change. If something is working fine, it’s hard to get people to change.

But if there are inefficiencies and security failures that people don’t see or hear about behind closed doors, then that’s a different story. Making sure a new tool or app is simple to use is important for early adoption.

What the Internxt Team is Assembling

The Internxt team is taking different decentralized technologies and improving them to make sure they fit nicely with Internxt’s X Files needs. They are focusing on providing a seamless customer experience.

Now you might be thinking, what is wrong with cloud computing currently that makes it a problem?

Well for one, most applications ran through the cloud have one centralized server for their operations. Let’s say a company’s online infrastructure is being run currently from a server in Germany because that’s where the company is located. This is great and all unless something like the Equifax hack happens and someone gets into your server and accesses all of your company information.

The problem with a lot of these hacks that have happened (remember Home Depot) is that these hackers only have to gain access to one central server.

How Blockchain Will Help Cloud Computing

Now with blockchain technology, if that same hacker wanted to hack bitcoin for example that has a market cap of over $110 Billion right now, they would only have 10 minutes to access the network and they would need to do this simultaneously since the bitcoin blockchain is decentralized and ran from several computers and servers around the world.

If you don’t get the big picture yet, it makes breaking into a blockchain based cloud computing platform like Internxt very tough, almost impossible. I’ll never say never because technology is increasing at such a fast pace, that who knows what will happen in 10 years.

One thing I do know for sure is that Internxt is building internet services for the future. A distributed cloud that is both easy to use, nice to look at, and secure all at the same time.
