Israeli Designer, On Mekahel, Talks Mounderwear, Reality Show, and Husband

Aspiring actor turned businessman turned model On Mekahel has a new clothing line that he is excited to share with the world. After originally moving to the United States to pursue his dream career in acting, On found himself as the right-hand man to fashion mogul and supermodel, Noami Campbell. Through the various opportunities he was given, On built up the ambition to create his own clothing line. With the help of his husband, David, Mounderwear was launched.

Mounderwear, an undergarment, and males clothing line is a brand that believes in refining the basics and offering something that everyone can see a piece of themselves in. The brand is also one that operates under the belief that beauty is everywhere and everyone, and goes far beyond what we see, and lies within what we feel. On and David took their passion and created a sector to the underwear line, Mounderwear Swim. When asked what inspired the swim spin-off, On stated, “My husband and I spent a lot of time at the beach during quarantine last year. We came to the realization that we weren’t satisfied with our attire, and also saw just how seriously people take it – their summer fashion statement. So, we decided to design one swim short and one swim brief based on how we envisioned the best fit for the masses. Nine months later, the first MO Swim pieces were born.”  When he is not designing his epic line, On is a major fashion connoisseur. His biggest fashion icon and inspiration is, of course, the queen herself, Noami. On says that her career has spanned so many decades and she looks just as amazing as she did in the beginning and that her drive to stay original inspires him every day. On and his husband are also the stars of the reality show, Putting On, which recently won a Queerty award for Best Digital Series. We can look forward to seeing the characters develop a bit more in the upcoming season, as the fashion couple has made sure to uncover more layers of themselves in an effort to be as authentic as possible and deliver their message in the most meaningful way.

While the pair are working closely on their brand and their show, their relationship is still something that they are looking forward to celebrating this year. Because the pandemic put a halt to their big wedding plans, the pair eloped to Paris and got married but still have plans to have a “wild,” extravagant ceremony in On’s homeland of Israel with family and friends! Be sure to stay in the loop of all things Mounderwear via their Instagram page, or follow On for updates!
