In recent years’, cosmetic dentistry has witnessed a meteoric rise owing to the influence of the burgeoning social media culture. The trend of the millennial generation appearing in front of the camera to create videos has led to them becoming more conscious of their appearance and beauty, including their smiles. People in their forties and above are opting for treatments in a bid to look younger. Modern-day dentists have successfully merged cosmetic dentistry with regular dentistry to offer a wholesome treatment package to their clients. Today, we are in conversation with leading cosmetic dentist Dr. Kambiz Sadraei, who is considered an artist in the field and has been honored with America’s top dentist award consequently in 2017 and 2018.
Q: Hello, Dr. Sadraei. Please tell us briefly about yourself.
A: I grew up in Los Angeles, California, and graduated with a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery D.D.S from the University of Detroit Mercy, Michigan. I currently reside in El Paso, Texas, where I founded my clinic, Divine Dental Spa.
Q: What type of services do you offer at Divine Dental Spa?
A: We primarily focus on cosmetic dentistry apart from regular treatments. Cosmetic dentistry has been responsible for enhancing the smiles of people from all walks of life. Some of the treatments include veneers, anterior crowns, and clear braces. We also offer free dental treatments to all cancer patients and survivors.
Q: You are also particularly renowned for conducting the Buccal Fat Reduction surgery.
A: Yes, indeed. I am one of the few dentists in North America who performs the Buccal Fat Reduction surgery. It is a short 30-minute procedure that helps the client to achieve a beautifully chiseled face.
Q: That’s wonderful. Can you please elaborate on the procedure?
A: Of course. Buccal fat is a round mass of fat in the middle of your cheek. Located between the facial muscles in the hollow area beneath your cheekbone, the size of your buccal fat pads shapes your face. The surgery is a cosmetic procedure that removes the excess fat to thin your cheeks and define the facial angles.
Q: Lastly, who makes an ideal candidate for the procedure?
A: Several factors are to be taken into consideration. But in general, anyone who is in good health and has a fuller face and would like to alter it for a more contoured or slimmer facial appearance is an excellent candidate.
