Music producer Saqib Aslam aka AP was just in his 20s when he decided to follow his love for music despite being a graduate from the University of San Francisco in public administration. Today the decision has paid off in many ways, as AP is now the proud owner of Apis Records. The company has pushed two chartbusters in a short span of time, Gimme Sum and Kash.
He has been fortunate enough to work with the best lot in the music and hip-hop industry including being associated with award-winning rapper Travis Scott for his Butterfly Effect video.
Right from the start, AP, who was has Pakistani origins but an American upbringing has been dedicated to bringing out the best in himself. He takes pride in one particular instance that pushed him to excel in college. He shares,
“The gratification of overcoming an obstacle is my greatest motivator. For example, math has never been my best subject, but I opted to take calculus in college, even though it wasn’t required for my major because I wanted to prove to myself I could do it. The course wasn’t easy, and I spent many nights studying late, but I passed with an A. The feeling of accomplishment that comes with exceeding challenging goals is what drew me to a career in music”
Today, he is on his way to be one of the top music producers in the country and his label is all about helping out young artists in need.
