Renowned Netflix actor and recording artist Rob Murat just released his exhilarating new collaboration with dancehall artist Jupitar entitled “FLY AWAY”. A nod to Haiti during one of the country’s most turbulent times, “FLY AWAY” ends 2021 on a high note as Rob dives deeper into his Haitian heritage, delivering a verse entirely in Haitian-Creole, of which he is fluent.
With hit after hit, his accomplished recording career has taken off this year, but that’s not all fans have their eye on. Also known for playing ‘Coach Ron’ in Netflix’s hit series “On My Block”, Rob’s acting career has put him front and center. With this past season being the final season of the popular hit series, we caught up with Rob to see how he was feeling about it coming to a close.
Rob shared with us that his best memory from being on set was the final day of shooting the series this past summer. Watching the entire team of producers, cast and crew land the plane after such an amazing ride was a special experience to be a part of.
Even though Rob acted on his passion for music prior to discovering a love for acting, it’s safe to say that his true love in this context is performing. Creating characters and stories through both music and songwriting and bringing these stories to life is what piqued his interests at a very early age. The art of performance is one of the main bridges between the worlds of acting and music and while he found a love for music first, it’s safe to say that he shares an equal passion for both today.
This year, Rob’s music expanded globally both streaming-wise but also as it pertained to Rob’s collaborations with international artists. Before “FLY AWAY” we were given an incredibly unique collaboration with Ghanaian artist Adina Thembi called “Love Me Love”, which served as the perfect springboard for his latest hit. Rob has always been a part of various film, tv and commercial projects. And adding his own solo music career to the mix increases his versatility as a beloved multimedia artist. Having also narrated the voice of a series of ESPN TV campaigns as well as various nationally televised award ceremonies, this true jack of all trades has achieved respect nationwide and we’re excited to see what he has in store for 2022.
