We luckily caught up to SOS LO who just recently has been going viral with his new release with Trippie Redd and Chris King called “Honorable Flex”. In the interview, we had the chance to ask the rapper a few questions about his purpose, process, and more. Enjoy SOS LO’s answers below!
What is the purpose/reason driving you to pursue music?
My purpose for making music outside of my love for the art would be to prove people wrong and show people everything they have had to say about me and all that doesn’t mean anything. Also, just to show I’m up and I’m loving my life and my career and everything in life that tried to take me down couldn’t. I just love it more than anything.
What is your greatest achievement as a musician?
My greatest achievement as an artist at this moment has to be the respect I have gained from OG’s in the game. My mentor Adrian Porter is a legend and believes in me more than I do myself. Also working with guys like Jazze Pha was surreal. It’s humbling to know how I started and now where I’m at working with guys who really paved the way.
Do you produce your own music? If not, who do you work with?
I assist in producing my music in a very small way. If I hear things I would like or could be cool I suggest it but at the end of the day I leave it to the professionals. As I just mentioned the producers I work with are so talented and have accolades to prove that. So, I will give my suggestions but they have the final say. I mainly work with my mentor AP and he is a genius when it comes to production. It’s really a pleasure watching him work and I think he is one of the greatest to ever do it.
Who is one artist you wish you could work with?
One artist I would love to work with is Kanye West. Not just because he’s a dope rapper but because of his production. He brings a different style than everyone and working with him is a dream of mine.
