Brendan Cox is well on his way to making a name for himself after founding 10 profitable companies by the age of 19. Cox has had a passion for business and entrepreneurship from the young age of nine. This young businessman is living the dream of many around the world today, at 19, and recently has shared his secrets to success in his new book.
Cox has put all of his business secrets in a new book because of his passion for helping others aspiring entrepreneurs succeed. The book is titled “Strictly Business: How to Crush it as a Young Entrepreneur” and offers simple yet practical tips to help you start and scale your entrepreneurial journey at a young age.
The book which was published in May of 2020 is made up of three sections with real-life examples of what you should and should not do when you start your first business (or really any business). Strictly Business has been recognized by just about every major business publication including Forbes, Business Insider, Vizaca and numerous others. Sarah Olray of Vizaca described Cox’s book, “Strictly Business questions, informs and motivates the reader to go for their dreams, rather than surfing against the obstacles.”
The book begins with an introduction breaking down the author’s inspiring story of building his companies while still in high school. Cox started by selling candy and gum in middle school and went on to build and sell a company earning 6-figures annually.
Cox mentions passion numerous times throughout the book, emphasizing that building a business around something you love doing is more important than looking for a quick buck. “If you aren’t passionate about the niche your business is in, you will lose interest quickly and your business will usually fail” Cox says. He also highlights the importance of pushing yourself in section one titled “You Gotta Want It.” Before getting into the so-called tips and tricks of entrepreneurship he faces his readers with a reality check, “It’s just not going to happen overnight. Stop thinking you can just flip a switch and become a millionaire, it doesn’t work like that.”
