Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything. I can never understand how is it that music can, without words, evoke our laughter, our fears, our highest aspirations and can even just leave us into tears?
Music is a language that doesn’t speak in particular words, it speaks in emotions. Even the greatest physicist like Albert Einstein once mentioned, “If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”
The biggest gift you can get from God, is the gift of music and a passion to bring out the best in yourself and with no doubt Mike De’Cole has got all this. Mike is a singer, songwriter and a model. He has been singing since he was 4 but never thought of making it a vocation in his life, but life doesn’t always goes as you plan it.
A broken heart became Mike’s inspiration to create music, to channel that pain into art was an amazing release. This is what they mean when they say – turn your pain into art. At this moment in time, Mike De’ Cole is an entrepreneur/business owner. Mike dreams to tour and build his music more in the U.K.
Mike De’ Cole was a shy introverted soul in his childhood days and he only had music as his friend. Music was the only one thing whom he understood and who understood him.
Mike always tells how his childhood was full of lessons which he never realised until he was a grown-up man. There are few things that you don’t understand at the moment, but those things stay with you forever and at the right time and at the right place, they just add meaning to your life.
The End of 2019 Mike released a EP that was number 1 on the charts in London and number 1 on the charts in Grenada and he had a tour set but the beginning of 2020 Covid put a halt on our plans, May 2021 Mike De’Cole released his first ever 2 sided ‘45 vinyl Record and first music since covid let up and it’s now #3 on the London charts so he is preparing for another tour early 2022 with the release of the new project titled It’s Still Simply Wonderful.
In his life long career, Mike has performed at many magnificent venues like The Cruise, enVision Hotel, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, Knights of Columbus, Dancing Ganesha, Miracle Empowerment Center and appreciably more. In 2013, Mike wrote his first song, “Lost without you” and since then he has got writing credits for numerous songs like Where did our Love Go, Fall In Love Again”, So It Was Written, Man 4 Me and immeasurably more.
We just can’t underestimate the fact that in 2018, Mike teamed up with Grammy Award winning artist Jamecia Bennett of Sounds Of Blackness to write a beautiful, soulful ballad titled “Man 4 Me” that won the USA Songwriter competition.
When asked about what makes Mike De’Cole stand out in the industry, Mike replied, “I think because the kind of music I create is the list forgotten and unpopular style of music now, that’s what makes me stand out, it’s refreshing to the ears because it’s not often heard anymore.”
Mike De’ Cole has always lived by the quote : life’s full of waves so learn how to surf.
