You’re Driving a Ferrari, and You Don’t Even Know It!

I want you to close your eyes and imagine you’re in Germany driving on the autobahn with no speed limit. Imagine yourself driving as fast as you possibly can whilst you’re behind the wheel of a Honda. Now, imagine yourself driving on the same autobahn, as fast as you possibly can, driving in a Ferrari. In which of the imagined cars did you drive the fastest in?

I’m willing to say that you envisioned yourself driving faster in a Ferrari!

Why? It’s not because a Ferrari is superior to a Honda, it’s because we believe Ferrari’s are fast cars. They have been designed for speed, they have been marketed as one of the fastest cars you can purchase and Enzo Ferrari’s love and passion for racing and speed is infused within his brand, even long after his death. Through all of this we have become conditioned to believe, without an ounce of disbelief that a Ferrari is a fast car. Therefore when you did the previous exercise, you saw yourself unconsciously driving faster while you were in a Ferrari!

Our Conditioned Limitations

Ferraris are not the only mechanical system that are fast and powerful! Our bodies, our minds, our emotions and our thoughts are just as powerful and strong as any Ferrari can be, if not more so. Yet we do not believe we are as strong or as fast or as powerful as a Ferrari. So we go through life unconsciously driving slower than what we were designed to.

Instead of showing up with full throttle and reaching our fullest potential, we treat life like a warm up lap. Cruising by at minimum speed, playing it safe and hoping we win the race.

Why? Because our thoughts and beliefs condition and determine how we show up in our lives and whether we actually reach our fullest potential. If we subconsciously believe and consistently think we’re not smart enough, not pretty enough, not worthy enough, not wealthy enough (and the list goes on,) then instead of showing up full throttle in our Ferrari, we show up as adults trying to ride around on children’s bikes. And we all know how uncomfortable and painful that is!

You were designed to succeed!

Much like a Ferrari was designed for speed and racing, you were designed for your own personal success. Your personality, your looks, your body, your brain, your skills, your creativity, your likes and your dislikes were all designed for you in this life. So that you could make your dreams a reality and radiate your essence to the world.

Let go of your limitations and SHINE

The only difference between who you are today and the version of you that has it all is this: The version of you that has it all, has made her/his dreams part of her/his identity. What do I mean by this? Well, a Ferrari’s identity is that it’s a luxurious, high end, fast car; so it attracts buyers who like luxurious, high end, fast cars.

Therefore, your current identity is attracting your current reality. So if you want to go from where you are to where you want to be, you need to embody that version of yourself now and make it part of your identity.

How do you do this?

  1. The first step is to identify what it is you want! In order for you to move from where you are, you must first have a destination of where you are going. Identify in detail what you want your life to look like. What do your relationships look like? What kind of career/work do you do? How much money are you making? What are your living arrangements? Create a mental map of the life you want to create.
  2. Identify where you currently are and what your current identity, thoughts & beliefs are! Like I mentioned earlier, your current identity has created your current reality. In order to create something different, you need to identify what got you here in the first place. Otherwise you may continue to keep recreating the same identity unconsciously without even realizing it. Begin to listen to your thoughts and listen to what you say, as both will reveal to you, your beliefs/identity.
  3. Condition your mind and take action towards your goals NOW! Cultivate habits or rituals that will condition and reprogram your mind to think in new ways. There are many different types of ways in which you can do this! Some include: ThetaHealing sessions, affirmations, gratitude lists, meditation, reading/listening to empowering content (books, podcasts, etc.), or even journaling. Choose what works for you and make it part of your daily routine. Lastly you want to begin to take action daily in the direction of your goals.

As you begin to apply the three steps outlined above, you will begin to notice positive shifts within you, that will allow you to show up full throttle in your Ferrari. These internal shifts will then manifest and attract a different reality!
