To celebrate the day and resemble the day the country has gained its freedom, people consider fireworks and family reunions. 3. An average of 900 litres of ice cream are sold on the 4th of July every year. As it’s summer, Americans combine fun with heat and delight in cones!
4. According to “Time” magazine, the 4th of July is the country’s leader in hot dog sales. Americans consume about 155 million snacks during the celebrations. It’s a damn sausage!
5. Some important people in US history were born on the 4th of July. Calvin Coolidge, the country’s 30th president and Italian Giuseppe Garibaldi and Barack Obama’s eldest daughter, Malia, blow out candles on this date.
6. In July 1776, an estimated 2.5 million people lived in the US. Today, that number is much higher: about 321.4 million, according to the USA Census Bureau.
