Getting traction for your startup is especially hard these days. We live in a noisy world. 5.7 million websites are added to the internet every single day. 5,400 new books are published every 24 hours. 95 million photos are posted to Instagram every day. 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every passing minute. Google gets 7 billion searches per day—roughly one search for every human being on the planet
How can you possibly get people to care about you when the world is overloaded with information on a daily basis? You need a platform. And it doesn’t have to be your own.
Everyone Loves a Competition
One startup innovating in this space is LaunchTeam. Since 2016, their 50+ clients have raised over $500 million in VC funding and released dozens of bestselling books.
LaunchTeam’s magic lies in the small, targeted communities they create for each launch. Whether you’re launching a book, an app, or even something more abstract, like your fundraising strategy—for example, their community-building system can layer into your strategy to achieve better results.
During the last week of January, the company is launching its conference, the LaunchTeam Growth Summit. Conference attendees and a panel of judges will be selecting 10 startup finalists to participate in their Startup Awards competition. The winner will receive a free launch platform buildout for their next launch, plus free PR services valued at $5,000-$10,000.
The Black and Female Founders Grant
In a nod to the broader social issues at hand, LaunchTeam has also pledged to offer a portion of their premium ticket sales ($1,000 guaranteed, and up to $10,000) as a grant to a startup led by either an African American or female founder. You must apply to the LTGS Startup Awards competition to be considered for the grant, and you don’t have to be a top-ten finalist to win it.
LaunchTeam founder and CEO, Jesse Tevelow, commented on the pledge, saying, “We understand the world needs to change. We hope our Pledge for Equality Grant encourages others to do the same for their next launch campaign. If we all contribute, it adds up.”
A Beacon of Hope?
In a world full of noise and uncertainty, LaunchTeam feels like a hopeful call-to-arms. If you’re a startup founder looking for a solution to gain exposure and build your platform, this could be it. To learn more about LaunchTeam and the LaunchTeam Growth Summit, visit their website.
Note: The application deadline for the LTGS 2021 Startup Awards is January 17th, a week before the event. You can apply here.
