Which Mobile Service is Right for You

Choosing a mobile service is stressful, but it shouldn’t have to be. There are so many cell services, with more and more coming out each year. However, only a handful of them is both popular and reliable.

If you’re looking to switch cell phone carriers, here’s a rundown of five of the most popular cell phone carriers out there.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile is one of the best cell phone plans out there when it comes to getting the most bang for your buck. They recently absorbed Sprint, so their coverage is the best it could be at the moment.

They offer prepaid and regular phone plans, with their prepaid plans starting at only $15 a month. They have tons of perks, such as free Netflix, unlimited talk, text, and data on certain plans, and a bunch of free stuff and discounts within their smartphone app.

If you’re not looking for an unlimited plan, they also offer low-cost tiered data plans. However, they put a hard cap on their non-unlimited data plans, which may be annoying to some.

Verizon

Verizon has been neck and neck with T-Mobile for years now, the two competing for the top spot amongst mobile carriers. Verizon offers a network with an extensive reach, a fast 5G connection, and a ton of different plan options.

They allow you to switch out your phone frequently with payment plans and trade-in offers, and they’re always running deals on their devices if you’re looking to get something new.

However, their fastest 5G speeds aren’t available everywhere, and if you want to get the best unlimited plan, it can be a bit expensive compared to other mobile networks.

AT&T

AT&T has always been known for being a step behind Verizon, even though they try to keep up. However, they’re still a favorite to some. AT&T offers an extensive network of coverage, with 5G coverage growing in availability.

Their best-unlimited plan is about $85/month, which is higher than most. Even though AT&T markets its plan as unlimited, they still put a soft cap on their data at 100GB, meaning it will slow down if you go bast that barrier.

Families can mix and match plans depending on the data that everyone needs, so you don’t have to worry about overpaying for data that not everyone requires. This is great if you have kids or teens in your family who don’t need to access that much data.

Visible

Visible is a great option if you’re looking for affordable unlimited data. This mobile network limits itself to one type of plan only. At $40/month, you can get unlimited data through Verizon’s LTE network. Visible is owned by Verizon but is a great option for those looking for a cheaper cell phone plan without missing out on all the benefits.

They offer discounts on multiple lines, meaning you’ll end up paying less than $40/a month per line, which is a huge steal.

Unfortunately, their 5G network is only available to iPhone users, and the network can run a little bit slow if it’s congested in your area. Otherwise, it’s a great budget option.

Xfinity Mobile

If you already get your internet service from Xfinity, picking up their cell phone service is a great idea. They offer a $45 unlimited plan and are also parented by Verizon, meaning you’ll have access to Verizon’s huge 5G network.

Unfortunately, they don’t offer a discount on multiple lines, and you have to have Xfinity internet to be able to use this service. If you do have Xfinity internet, you should really consider bundling your phone plan in, as it will really save you money.
