Joepegs is an NFT marketplace offered as a part of Trader Joe’s DEX (Decentralized Exchange) on the Avalanche blockchain. Joepegs launched in May 2022 and recently secured $5 million that will continue to fund the core NFT marketplace, NFT launchpad, and also Joe Studios, its in-house production unit. Let’s take a look at the top five NFT projects on Joepegs by sales volume as of November 27th, 2022.
Chikn Party Hat
Officially, these are collectibles that pertain to the Chikn NFT game on Avalanche, and they are commemorating the game’s one-year anniversary. Unofficially, and according to Chikn Discord moderator OneThirdNerd, “they are reminiscent of the Runescape party hats and therefore probably a collector’s wet dream in years to come. They most likely will have an equipable function with other relevant foraged material.” There are 1,000 items, 652 owners, and the current floor price is 6.09 $Avax with a 7-day volume of 2,780 $Avax.
The Plague Game is set to launch in early December and is a one-off competition being produced by Joe Studios. The gist of the game is that a mysterious plague has swept the land and is infecting everyone in town. Only those people that drink special potions (also NFTs) will survive the plague. The storyline and mechanics are still developing. The NFTs are “Doctors” of the plague that are represented by what appear to be macabre figures wearing long-beaked bird masks. There are 7,542 items, 1,086 owners, and the current floor price is 3.03 $Avax with a 7-day volume of 1,394 $Avax.
It’s difficult to determine what this project is about, other than the Chippers appear to be beavers. The mint for these NFTs was free and was limited to 500 items. The reveal is done in two stages. The first stage is simply a picture of a log that reveals the rarity of the item based on the background color. The second stage will be the finalized artwork. There is very little information about the project and it was just minted on November 24th. There are 500 items, 236 owners, and the current floor price is 3.0 $Avax with a 7-day volume of 583.4 $Avax.
Rich Peon Poor Peon
Based on a quick scan of Twitter, it appears that the storyline has to do with orcs that wield mining-axes and are attempting to unionize in order to mine as many diamonds as possible. The artwork is by @R00001ndom, who also created @smol_joes. Essentially, it looks like the orcs are currently poor (relatable) and will unionize so they can work in the diamond mine to become rich, possibly overthrowing the existing bourgeoisie orcs. There are 5,000 items, 1,016 owners, and the current floor price is $4.8 $Avax with a 7-day volume of 355.9 $Avax.
The Mad Skullz live in Skullz City, a peaceful place until one day a multidimensional portal opens and humans flood the city and start trying to kill the peace-loving Skullz (sounds about right). The attacks begin to increase against the Skullz and now the Skullz will have to fight for their freedom. The Skullz NFTs are skeletons with various bodies and other features. The Mad Skullz website is beautifully done and gives its community a clear timeline and also a host of benefits for holding Skullz, including games, running a validator node, and governance for decision-making about the project. There are 6,000 items, 768 owners, and the current floor price is 2.9 $Avax with a 7-day volume of 303.4 $Avax.
