When we think of the beauty industry from a wider perspective, it thrives a lot on creativity. With the changing times, the beauty industry has made a place for itself as a booming career option.
However, most people have a connotation that the scope of the beauty industry is limited. Many even believe that besides being a makeup artist or a hairstylist, it has nothing to offer. But Reshu Malhotra, a renowned makeup artist shares her views on how the industry has blossomed in the last few years.
The makeup artist is based in Dubai and has left everyone impressed with her impeccable work. Unlike other professions, makeup requires creativity that one can utilize to the fullest. “All it depends on is on your skills and abilities”, says Malhotra. Much before becoming a makeup artist and a reputed beauty blogger, it was her blog titled ‘Essence of beauty – the inner you’ that grabbed everyone’s attention.
Brought up in New Delhi, India, Malhotra never had her plans of becoming a makeup artist. Having worked with international airlines like Jet Airways and Emirates, her quest to do something creative always bothered her. That’s when Reshu Malhotra deep dived into the concept of makeup and beauty, and the rest is history.
Looking back at the journey of almost a decade, the beauty blogger as per her experience reveals that makeup was indeed the best career choice she opted for. “Many look at the brighter side of being a celebrity makeup artists that we get a good paycheque. But before reaching this position, there goes a lot of training and seminars on makeup, beauty, hair styling and many more. It is a very vast field to work”, says Reshu.
She further reveals that being a makeup artist is a good move as it helps in meeting new people and exploring new places. In her extraordinary career, Reshu Malhotra has travelled to many happening destinations of the world, and she seems to explore various other locations after the situation gets better from the pandemic.
To become a past master in this field, Reshu Malhotra got trained as a makeup artist from different academies like The London Makeup School, Esmod Dubai and Makeup For Ever. She is also trained as a professional hair-dressing expert from Fat Mu Pro Makeup Academy and is a certified beauty consultant from the international skincare brand Dermalogica.
Her clientele from Bollywood boasts ravishing beauties like Jacqueline Fernandez, Ileana D’Cruz, Urvashi Rautela, Shriya Saran, Kalki Koechlin, Divya Khosla Kumar among others. Started from a small-scale, Malhotra has now become a prominent name in the makeup industry. Her beauty studio ‘The Artist Beauty Lounge’ in Dubai saw her embark on an entrepreneurial journey, and it remains one of the biggest highlights of her career.
