How do you make them work with you, do favors for you, and promote you?
Wealthy people have all the resources in the world.
Even with just one successful connection, you can get tons of resources available to you on a silver platter.
They can help you meet the right people, give you the right resources, and lend you a helping hand when needed.
There are so many benefits to a rich network. But the question is – How do you make these millionaires and billionaires your friends?
Truth is, there are thousands of other people just like you who are dying to get close to them.
So how do you stand out and grab their attention?
Jon Talarico, founder of ‘The Million in You’, is a true pioneer of developing impactful business relationships and advocates the importance of creating meaningful partnerships.
Jon refuses to use the word “Networking”. He prefers to use the word “Connecting” because it sounds a bit more personal and intimate.

If you can dig deep to uncover that problem and then solve it for them, you can turn them into your friends.”
Now the question is – Is there a framework that you can use to reach out to people and make them your friends?

Fortunately, we have the answer.
Jon says, “To get anything in your life, you will have to master the 3 Ms and in this particular order”:
If you don’t have the right mindset, your message doesn’t matter. And if your message is not right, the market doesn’t matter.
Let us have a deeper look into it. Let us see how you can use it to connect with the right people (or to achieve anything in life)
To connect with successful people (or to achieve anything in life), you must have your mindset right.
You must know what you want to achieve and must believe that you can achieve it.
Before you connect with anybody, you must clearly know what you want out of that relationship. If you don’t know that, you will just waste your time.
Success is 80% inside job and 20% outside the job. If you can get your mindset right, you have already done 80% of the work.
But how do you adopt the right mindset?
Be clear on what you want and write it down in the present tense.
Write it down as if you already have what you want to achieve. Write it down as if you already are what you want to be.
Then record yourself saying those affirmations and listen to them 3-4 times a day.
While you are listening to them, imagine yourself doing all those things you wanna do. Visualize those affirmations.
So, if you want to connect with millionaires and billionaires, write down – I have millionaire and billionaire friends/clients who are helping me to become a better person.
Listen to this on repetition and visualize yourself shaking hands with the person you wanna be friends with.
This is one of the biggest lessons of Think and Grow Rich.

Once you get your mindset right, find the right message to speak to the people you want to influence.
The right message is something that can hold people’s attention, create curiosity in them, and get them to know, like, and trust you.
It should be something your target market cares about.
If you want to connect with successful people, you should not ask what they can do for you. You should ask what you can do for them.
The secret to building influence is by first understanding what you can do for them. Dig deeper to find their desires, the things they crave, the things they want.
If you can tap into those desires and help them achieve it, you can make them your friends, clients or customers.
That is how Jon made Bob Proctor his friend.
He went into one of his seminars to learn from him. He saw that everyone wanted to get close to Bob and be friends with him.
He discovered that Bob loved the song – I Can See Clearly Now, The Rain Is Gone.
He used to play that song again and again. He used to listen to it every day.
After discovering this, Jon went to google to find out who wrote that song. It turned out to be Jonny Nash.
Jon dug up the whole internet to find out the whereabouts of Nash. He found that Nash stopped performing years ago. There was not much information about him online.
After many hours of searching, he found an article that had a phone number on it.
He called the number and that turned out to be Nash’s wife.
Long story short, he asked his wife if she can get an autograph from Nash. He got the autograph, framed it, and put a little note in it which said
“Thanks for coaching me, Bob. I can see clearly now.”
He went to the seminar the next day, left the framed autograph on Bob’s desk, and returned without saying anything.
After some time, he got a call from Bob’s son. Bob was so influenced by this simple act that he called Jon on stage and told everyone this story.
And that is how Jon built a relationship with the biggest mindset coach on the planet.
Discover what matters the most to them.
Figure out what charities they like, where their kids go to school, what their family and culture are like.
This will help you to find the right message.
Now you have the right mindset. You know what you want in your life and you know you can achieve it.
You also have your right message dialed in.
Now, how do you get into the market? How do you actually make connections with millionaires and billionaires?
You do that by building a network of people.
Jon teaches a principle called “Two People Removed”.
Find those two connecting links who can help you meet the person you wanna meet.
For example – If you want to connect with Jeff Bezos, start by finding out who he hangs around with.
Let us say you do your research and you find that there is this X person who is close to him.
Then you dig deeper into the life of X. You find another person X spends his most time with. Let us say that person is Y.
So, Y knows X and X knows Bezos.
Connecting with Y is a lot easier than connecting with Bezos. So, start by uncovering what Y values the most in his life.
See what you can do for him. Help him fulfill his deepest desires.
Once you build strong connections with Y, you can easily reach out to X and help him in some other way.
And if you play your cards right, you can soon be a buddy of the richest man on this planet.
That is how you connect with anyone in this world.
