It is located between the “Implement” and “Secure” phases. It specifically addresses Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

Continuous integration is the process by which developers make changes in response to demand and implement logic in the service. Continuous delivery, on the other hand, aids in the automation of the delivery process by creating actual infrastructure as specified in the CI process.

With the rapid growth of APIs and services, manually investigating these challenges and ensuring information security is critical, as numerous complex security attacks target APIs. The best option for meeting business and consumer needs while reducing the burden on key stakeholders is to implement automation and scaling mechanisms.

Because most of the hard work is automated, this approach allows for the maintenance of a large-scale API ecosystem with minimal effort. Simultaneously, it becomes simple to adapt to changing demands in a short period.

Even though CI/CD process is helpful, there are few benefits that can’t be achieved i.e., rapid bug fixes, less duplicated tasks, time savings, high accuracy, quick rollbacks, manageable small backlogs, easy maintenance, and quicker improvements.
